$exposure event through the existing Amplitude Browser SDK.
Configure Amplitude and ABConvert
1
Select an Amplitude web project
Select the Amplitude project that receives your storefront events. Install and initialize one Amplitude Browser SDK on storefront pages after analytics consent.
2
Keep one SDK owner
If a Shopify app owns the Amplitude browser SDK, do not add another theme SDK. Configure page, cart, checkout, and purchase events in that same owner.
3
Enable Amplitude in ABConvert
In Integrations, enable Amplitude. ABConvert uses the existing
amplitude.track client and does not store an Amplitude API key.4
Verify the exposure
Visit an eligible active test in a fresh, consented browser. In Amplitude, confirm
$exposure in the selected project’s live events and inspect flag_key and variant. What Amplitude receives
ABConvert sends both properties together. The event is sent once for each test-group exposure in that browser.
Use cases
- Compare a funnel: break down product-view, add-to-cart, and purchase events by the test group in Amplitude analysis.
- Study retention: compare repeat visits or repeat purchases after people first see each test group.
- Build an audience: create a cohort of visitors exposed to a test group for a later behavioral report.
Things to know
- Use the same Amplitude project for the browser SDK and the live-event check. A valid event in another project is not a receipt for this integration.
- ABConvert exposure events do not add checkout or purchase instrumentation. Configure those events in Amplitude or your Shopify integration.
- Connected confirms a browser SDK handoff. Confirm the event in Amplitude before using it for analysis.
